Horsley Lodge, Derbyshire
When I first met with Gareth and Cheryl, they explained that their Wedding day at Horsley Lodge would be a small and intimate day that they’d be sharing with only a hand full of their nearest and dearest. This sounded beautiful and I started to look forward to their day.
On the morning of the wedding, the weather wasn’t looking great as we were in the middle of Storm Denis. I met Cheryl and her bridesmaid – Carly – as they started to get ready at her house, it was a lovely relaxed atmosphere and we enjoyed a laugh and a good cuppa using Tesco teabags (I’m converted Cheryl).
Elisha started her wizardry with her amazing makeup and then the pairs hair was transformed under the skillful eye of Cally from Bobbypin Little Hair hut. I grabbed some shots as they were getting ready and then spent a few moments taking some more shots of Cheryls beautiful Wedding dress – it looked amazing !
Carly helped Cheryl into her dress to complete the look and I then headed up to Horsley Lodge to meet up with Gareth. I found him in the bar with some of the guests and their children – Reuben and Greysen – who looked lovely in their little outfits.
Cheryl arrived at the venue to be greeted and helped out of the car by her very proud dad whilst Carly did a cracking job with the umbrellas keeping everyone dry. I nipped back into the ceremony room to capture some more shots as Gareth awaited Cheryls big entrance.
As the music started, Gareths turned to see Cheryl being lead down the aisle by her dad and it was smiles all round. I love capturing the moments when the bride and grooms eyes first meet and the amazing reactions they have.
After a beautiful ceremony, we were blessed with some sunshine so we quickly headed outside for some shots with the family and we even managed to have some near the fountain which Gareth specifically wanted.
Moments after we got back inside for the wedding breakfast, hail and strong winds battered the golf course and Horsley lodge but that didn’t stop the amazing atmosphere inside.
A fantastic wedding and a lovely day which I hope I was able to capture for you.
I wish you both all the best……… Matt
