Donington Park Farmhouse
From the moment I met up with Jake and Hannah and we had a stroll around Osmaston Park – or more of a hike thanks to Jake – I instantly loved all of their ideas for their wedding. The planning and organisational skills were next level and it sounded like it was going to be an amazing day.
The Big Day
When I was told that the venue was Donington Park Farmhouse, I got excited really excited – this was a first time at the venue for me. I had seen many instagram posts and blogs describing a spectacular looking barn and eating the wedding breakfast in an original pig sty so I couldn’t wait to see what it was like.
I arrived at Hannahs parents house to find Hannah and her bridal party sat having their hair and make-up finished off and drinking peppermint tea – all of them super calm and looking super glam.
Hannah had to hold back some early tears as she opened a beautiful necklace that Jake had surprised her with but luckily the make-up artist was still on hand to do a quick touch up before we made our way over to the venue.
Donington Park Farmhouse
The Farmhouse looked amazing and was every bit what I had imaged it to be. Decorated with pumpkins with a very Autumnal feel, it really is a great and unique wedding venue.
I nipped up to the the bridal suite and captured Hannah as she was helped into her dress by her bridesmaids before allowing her father to see her for the first time. Words can’t really describe when you see a fathers face so overwhelmed with emotions as they see their daughter for the first time in their wedding dress.
Seeing some of the guests arriving I met Giles, my second Photographer, and went over to the ceremony room – it looked amazing. Jake was stood with his brother Scott and both looked very dapper.
A quick chat with Jake as he stood waiting for Hannah, he was very cool and composed. It was then time for Hannah to be walked down the aisle by her father Dave and as Jake turned to see Hannah, both had beaming smiles.
A lovely ceremony and some quick shots outside with family and friends before the weather took a turn for the worst for the rest of the afternoon…..at least it was lovely just long enough for us to get some great shots!
The speeches were awesome, no standard ‘Google’ speeches here – all were very heartfelt and special, especially Scott’s whose emotional speech even got me choked up!
I loved this wedding from start to finish and I hope you will love every shot we managed to capture for you. Thanks for letting me part of your big day. I wish you both all the best…….. Matt
