SAM AND EMILY – THE MAYNARD
THE WEDDING DAY – APRIL 9TH 2022
The Maynard has always been a venue I wanted to shoot at, so when Sam and Emily asked me to capture their day there, I was very excited. We met for a pre shoot at the venue in 2021, they are an amazing couple and I knew the pictures were going to look stunning.
WEDDING MORNING
I met up with Emily and her bridal party at The George – a great little pub nestled in Hathersage about 5 minutes from the venue itself. Make-up and hair was well underway when I arrived and it was time for them to crack open the Prosecco to ease those pre-wedding nerves.
Emily was a great bride – happy and chilled out and just enjoying the morning with her mum, sister and best friends.
My second photographer, had made his way over to the Maynard to meet up with Sam and his groomsmen as they were gettting prepped for the big day ahead.
Back over at the George, Emily was helped by her bridesmaids into her Stella York wedding dress. She looked absolutely stunning and her dress was beautiful with just the right amount of sparkle.
Emily wanted to let her dad have a ‘first look’ and as she walked down the stairs towards him, I could see the pride and joy on his face, it was a lovely moment.
I then headed over to the Maynard, where I caught up with Sam and his groomsmen. They looked great and were enjoying a few drinks and having a laugh before heading inside to the ceremony room to await the arrival of the bridal party.
The venue looked great and the ceremony room was decorated beautifully.
As the music started, the bridesmaids walked down the aisle followed by Emily who walked arm in arm with her father. There were smiles all round as the happy couple stood together at the end of the aisle.Â
It was a wonderful ceremony in the presence of family and friends. The newlyweds looked amazing together and whilst the sun shone, we headed outside to capture a few photos in the grounds of the picturesque venue.
After a few drinks and lots of hugs and congratulations later, it was time for the guests to head in for the wedding reception.
Now I just want to give a shout out to Tom who was Sam’s best man, he delivered an incredible speech and got all the wedding party in tears. It was truly unforgettable.Â
As the evening guests started to arrive, Sam and Emily wanted a particular few pictures so I whisked them away to an awesome location where we captured some shots overlooking the amazing views of the Peak District.
We then hot-footed it back to the venue to enjoy a night of dancing, drinks, love and laughter with brilliant family and friends.
It was a perfect day and I am so pleased I was able to be part of it. Thank you and I wish you both all the best….
